We met at a local downtown coffee shop in the spring of 2019. Chesley had just proposed and Ally was so excited to begin planning the wedding for March 2020. I quickly picked up on her laid back demeanor. A quality that Ally would certainly need in the coming months.
Just two days before her wedding date, the best wedding planner ever called to say the wedding must be postponed due to the pandemic. Venues had been forced to shut down as was the rest of the world. My heart broke for them. Within just a few hours, Ally had picked a new date and we prayed for no more delays.
Finally, Ally and Chesley’s big day arrived. And what a joy it was! Ally was equally as laid back all day long.
I adore first looks. Seeing each other before the ceremony allows a more intimate time together before the ceremony. Chesley was obviously blown away at his beautiful bride.
There was a sense of relief in the air as Ally made her way into the Rosevelt Room at Windmill Station after months of uncertainty. It was finally happening!
The first moments after the ceremony are the sweetest in my opinion. The same two people, with the same love, yet they are now one. It is a sacred bond ordained by God that is unexplainable. Chesley was overcome with emotion as he held his bride.
One of the newlywed’s top priorities when planning the wedding was a live band. And let me tell you, Union Road Band did not disappoint! The dance floor was full all night.
But the highlight of the evening was Ally stepping into the spotlight to sing! Ally shared that she sang karaoke to get Chesley’s attention when they first met. I think it’s safe to say it worked!
Chesley and Ally, thank you for letting us be a part of your day. It was a joy to serve you and it was worth the wait!
