Senior 2020 – Kory Knight

Kory walked across the stage on May 21st and received his diploma from Providence Christian School.

Kory’s mom, Melissa, has been one of my very dearest friends since kindergarten. It’s almost unfathomable, but 30 years ago we were walking across the stage together at our own graduation.

Kory is a talented young man no doubt. He has quite the collection of stringed instruments.

On top of guitars and banjos, Kory is a drummer. He was a member of the Pep Band as well as the Praise Team at Providence. Kory said that being in the band provided his greatest memories at Providence.

Not only is Kory talented, but he’s genuinely a great guy. After we finished his portraits, both our families went out to enjoy dinner together and catch-up. On the way home, we stopped by their home to continue our visit. Kory and his sister Kassidy were so accommodating to our young children. Before we knew it, Kory had them mesmerized with the peppers he had grown in his garden.

Kory stated “Because of the pandemic, I have missed playing in the band at school. But it has allowed me more time to play my guitars, plant and work in my garden, and spend time with my family.”

But more than anything, Kory’s faith is his foundation. He uses the talents he’s been given to lead in worship at his church. Kory plans to attend The Baptist College of Florida where he will pursue a degree in music and missions.
